Wardha city is known as ‘Gandhi City’ among the world because Mahatma Gandhi lived in this city for a remarkable time and operated the ‘Chale Jao’ movement from Sewagram Ashram. Also another freedom fighter Vinoba Bhave had worked from Pavnar Ashram and Gopuri during the famous movement of ‘Bhu-dan’.
Wardha has always been on the forefront as far as educational development and enthusiastic freedom movements are concerned. This is one of the main reasons Wardha has an International Hindi University which is named as “Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University” in which the students from various countries are learning. In fact, Wardha is among those few cities in India, which are culturally and religiously cool and silent. Peaceful environment encourages development of education sector in Wardha.
Wardha is located very near to Nagpur the center of India. The MIHAN (Multi Modal International Cargo and Passenger Hub Airport at Nagpur) one of the biggest in Asia, spread over 4025 hectares is going to commence soon. GIAET is having good contacts with the Industries which are going to invest in MIHAN, SEZ and in Butibori Industrial Zone. (India’s largest Industrial Zone).
The Institute aims to impart education to the students admitted in Aeronautical Engineering Programme and also intends to impart training cum education to the students appearing in associate membership examinations conducted by IME in Mechanical engineering.
Realizing the fact, Aeronautical Engineering is only the streame through which techno-scientific requirements of the nation are fulfilled to become awesome globally, Mr. Dinesh Rathod established the Gurukul Institute of Aeronautical Engineering and Technology at Wardha in 2008.
